MOUNTIES SAVE MAN, USE NALOXONE FOR FIRST TIME

Man owes life to quick acting police officers

RCMP officers in the southeast part of Manitoba saved the life of a 20 year old man who may have overdosed on fentanyl Friday January 14th.

When police arrived on scene just after 11:00pm they found an unconscious male with low pulse rate and severe breathing difficulties. Officers could not wait for the ambulance still 8 minutes away so they administered a dose of nasal naloxone. It took two more doses before the patients vital signs and breathing stabilized.  The man was taken to hospital and has since been released.
