RCMP has arrested and charged a Winnipeg man after the vehicle he was driving went off the road and into a ditch on Road 36 West, just another of Highway 3 in the RM of Stanley.

The incident happened around 7:00 am on Tuesday, December 13, 2022.

Police were tipped off that the vehicle may be stolen when two passersby noticed that the vehicle had no licence plates and the dashboard was damaged.

When officers arrived at the scene they found that the driver had two outstanding warrants, One from Saskatchewan and one from Ontario.

The vehicle that had gone off the road was found to be stolen from Winnipeg overnight.

James Jennings, 45, was arrested and charged for his alleged involvement with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and two counts of Failing to Comply.

He was detained in custody.
