Mother of missing man appeals for help in locating him

RCMP in Steinbach continues to investigate the disappearance of 47-year-old Christopher Peter Hawkins who has not been heard from since the afternoon of May 29, 2020.

Police say that Hawkins hired a taxi to take him from the RM of Ste Anne to Betula Lake in the Whiteshell Provincial Park.

RCMP became involved in the case after Hawkins was reported missing on June 20, 2020.

Police say that since his disappearance he has not been active on social media and has no contact with family or friends.

Investigators found surveillance video of the taxi Hawkins took to the Betula Lake Resort area. The time of the video is about 4:32 pm on the day he went missing. Police say the cab stopped just outside the sight of the camera. Hawkins was last seen walking towards the path to the provincial park campground.
