A 27-year-old Manitoba woman is facing incest and child pornography charges after RCMP learned child sexual abuse images had been up loaded to the social media platform X.
Investigators quickly learned the identity of the account holder and the location the images were uploaded from. Police say that the female owner of the account was also the person in the posted videos sexually abusing her infant.
Police arrested the woman within two hours of starting the investigation on March 13, 2024.
As the investigation continued police learned that a 31-year-old man from the same community and an individual in the United States was in possession of the material created by the female. The female was allegedly being extorted by the man in the community who had threatened to post the images to social media. The male was also in possession of child pornography.
The male was arrested and charged for his alleged involvement with Possess Child Pornography, Access Child Pornography, and Extorting without Firearm.
The female was charged for her alleged involvement with Sexual Assault, Incest, Possess Child Pornography, Access Child Pornography, and Print/Publish/Make Child Pornography.
Both of the accused remain in custody.
RCMP continue to work with other law enforcement agencies regarding the other individual in possession of the child porn created by the accused.
