The 27-year-old mother of a two-month-old child is facing manslaughter charges following his December 4, 2023 death.
Police and paramedics were called to an Atlantic Avenue home for a report of an unresponsive infant. The child was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Winnipeg Police Service’s Child Abuse Unit took over the investigation into the sudden death of King Campbell-Ross. Following the investigation and in consultation with Manitoba Prosecution Service a charge of manslaughter was authorized against the mother.
On February 8, 2024 Alyssa Michelle Ross was arrested and charged for her alleged involvement.
Ross has been detained in custody.
