Town of Morris issues boil water advisory

The Town of Morris has issued a boil water advisory after tests in the community on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 show a “presence of total coliform bacteria in the treated water supply.”

Town officials say that until further notice all water being used for consumption should be brought to a boil for at least 60 seconds including for:

  • Drinking and ice making
  • Preparing beverages, such as infant formula
  • Preparing food, including washing fruits and vegetables
  • Brushing teeth

The town say that the water can be used for other domestic purposes such as laundry, dish washing, washing hands and bathing as long as the water is not swallowed.
