RCMP in Morris have arrested a 42-year-old female for multiple break-ins after they had run in with the woman that caused them to follow up on her story.
Police say that on Sunday, January 21, 2018, they received a call about a person walking down a back lane carrying a variety of items. When officers investigated they questioned the woman who gave them a false name and a reason why she was carrying such a variety of items. Officers let her go.
On following up the woman’s story police quickly learned that the items she was carrying were stolen and they also learned her real identity.
Police were able to obtain a search warrant for a home on McMillan Street in Morris. Evidence obtained during the search helped police connect the woman to several unsolved break-ins around town.
Jolene O’Bara is facing multiple charges for her alleged involvement including two counts of Possession of Property by Crime, two counts of Trafficking in Property by Crime, Identity Fraud, Theft Under, Mischief Under, Trespass at Night, Obstructing Justice, Resisting Arrest, and Failing to Comply with Probation.
O’Bara was detained in custody to appear in court.
