More snow from Colorado low heading northeast. Special weather statement issued for Winnipeg.

On the heels of a Boxing day storm another Colorado low is tracking towards Manitoba. Although it is too early to tell the exact track of the storm weather models show the storm tracking farther south than the last one. It is expected that the heaviest snow will remain in North Dakota.

Areas along the Trans Canada highway will receive between 5 to 10 cm. Between Winnipeg and the border the storm is expected to bring as much as 20 cm by noon on Tuesday.

WINNIPEG WEATHER

Light snow is expected later tonight with periods of light snow throughout the day on Monday. Heavier snow is expected Monday evening into Tuesday morning.

Winds are expected to be gusting between 50 and 60 km/h Monday evening reducing visibility in open areas especially in the Red River Valley.

Environment Canada says that weather warnings may be issued later today once this system develops.
