The commissioner hired to look at the salaries and benefits provincial politicians get has decided that pay for members of the legislative assembly should stay at $94,513 for the next two years, with a cost of living after that starting April 1, 2020. 

 

Michael Werier’s take on things echoes actions already taken by the politicians themselves in the house back in March.  

 

He also thinks their pension contributions should be upped to nine per cent from two per cent and they should be able to apply for a one time boost for accessibility renovations for the offices they have in the communities, along with other recommendations on travel, constituency and living allowances.
