RCMP say that they have located the bodies of two missing hunters that were reported missing in the early morning hours of September 24, 2018.
The pair were part of a larger hunting party just south of Grand Rapids that had set off on ATVs on Sunday afternoon. Both men, aged 60 and 73, were described as experienced outdoorsmen.
A search and rescue operation was initiated by RCMP with help from a military search plane from CFB Trenton.
On Tuesday afternoon, September 25, 2018, the pair were spotted in the water on Lake Winnipeg from a search helicopter.
The bodies of the hunters were located close together and the deaths do not appear suspicious according to police.
