The body of a 53-year-old canoer who went missing earlier this month has been located. RCMP say that they do not suspect any foul play in his death.

The search for the Winnipeg man began after he failed to return from a fishing trip on the morning of October 6, 2017. He had set out from Sunset Beach just south of Grand Beach on the east side of Lake Winnipeg on the evening of October 5, 2017.
Police were able to locate his vehicle and conducted a major search in cooperation with East Beaches Fire & Rescue and the military. They conducted a search by air, land, and water but were unable to locate him.
