The body of a 49-year-old male was recovered by RCMP on Saturday August 31, 2019.

The man had been reported missing on Friday morning after he failed to return to camp from harvesting wild rice. Another harvester went out to search for the missing boater and located the man’s airboat submerged in about 15 feet of water. An immediate search of the area found not locate the missing man.

RCMP were called in and along with Manitoba Sustainable Development and private boats searched the shoreline without success. Searchers returned to the area on Saturday this time with additional help from The Hutterian Emergency Aquatic Response Team (HEART).

HEART located the missing boater with the aid of an underwater camera around 10:30 am.

The body of the deceased male was recovered by RCMP

The investigation is continuing.
