The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) announced Friday in a media release that the hours of operation for the Misericordia Urgent Care Centre will be cut in half. The centre will no longer operate 24 hours a day. Effective July 5, 2017 the urgent care centre will be closed between 8:00pm and 7:30 am.
According to the WRHA the number of patients coming to the centre overnight has decreased since they announced changes to health care delivery in April.
Misericordia Urgent Care Centre is slated to close on October 3rd of this year and will be converted into a community IV clinic.
The WRHA say that staff working overnight will be offered shifts during the day and evening.
