Manitoba Justice announced on Monday, June 29, 2020, that a 26-year-old inmate at Milner Ridge Correctional Centre has died. Milner Ridge is about 90 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg.

The unnamed inmate died in hospital on June 24, 2020, but officials are not providing any information surrounding the the death citing privacy reasons.
Justice officials say that the inmate’s family has been notified of his death.
The death has been reported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and a review of the incident will be conducted by Manitoba Justice.
