Meth to blame as man points gun and taunts male victim

A 44-year-old male is lucky to have not suffered any injuries during and incident with an armed man believed to have been on Meth.

On Tuesday evening, February 16, 2021 the victim was sitting in his truck near Logan Avenue and Bushnell when a man approached, pointed a firearm and began to taunt him.

A police supervisor chased the suspect on foot and was able to take him into custody in the 300 block of Patrick Street. During the foot chase the suspect had tried to get rid of the gun. Officers recovered the weapon and discovered it was an improvised firing device known on the streets as a zip gun.

Police say that the victim did not know the suspect and they believe the use of Methamphetamine played a role in the incident.

30-year-old Arieal Moriah Brown was charged for his alleged involvement with Assault with a Weapon and Possession of a Weapon.

He was detained in custody.
