Mass shooting threats on social media land Brandon man in jail

Brandon Police Service has arrested an charged a 26-year-old male in the Wheat City after they learned he had made comments on social media that he was going to conduct a mass shooting.

Police reviewed his social media page and found a number of pictures of the suspect with firearms. They also were able to confirm the threatening comments were made.

Police obtained a warrant to search the residence where the male lived. The Tactical Response Unit searched the address and located a number of airsoft firearms.

The suspect was arrested without incident. He has been charged for his alleged involvement with Uttering Threats. He was detained in custody.

Police say themas is scheduled to appear in court on the charges in November.
