Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a single-storey home in the 200 block of Martin Avenue West and found heavy flames and smoke coming from the structure when they arrived just before 4:00 am.
Firefighters launched a defensive attack on the fire from the exterior of the structure but were able to move inside the building once conditions improved. The fire was declared under control at 5;22 am.
Everyone inside the home was able to get out before crews arrived. One person was assessed by paramedics on the scene but they did not need to be transported to hospital.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
