Winnipeg Police have a 22-year-old male in custody after an investigation by their Child Abuse Unit into the death of a 21-year-old male.
Police say that on August 30, 2018 emergency crews were called to a home on Idlewild Bay for reports of an unresponsive child. The infant was taken to hospital in critical condition was pronounced dead on arrival.
The investigation has revealed that the child died from blunt force trauma injuries to his upper body. Investigators say the child had been hurt on two occasions that day once on Idlewild Bay and earlier at a home on Redwood Avenue.
The suspect Allen Joseph Frier Beardy has been charged for his alleged involvement with Manslaughter.
He remains in custody.
