Winnipeg Police Service homicide detectives have upgraded the charges against 26-year-old Christopher Michael Grozelle in connection to the death of Valentine Sumner on July 18, 2020.
Around 2:45 am emergency crews responded to a report of a male lying on Main Street between Dufferin and Jarvis Avenues. The victim was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The accused had originally been charged on July 24, 2020, with Aggravated Assault on Sumner. Homicide investigators have now also charged Grozelle with Manslaughter in connection to Sumner’s death.
