RCMP has arrested a German citizen and charged him with Manslaughter for his alleged involvement in a hunting fatality.

On Tuesday, October 5, 2021 police were called, just before 8:00 pm, to a wooded area off of Silver Bridge Road south of Elma, Manitoba for the report that a man had been shot.

When officers arrived on the scene the 59-year-old Rosengart man had been pronounced dead.

Officers conducted an investigation and learned that the victim had been shot by 45-year-old male who had been hunting in the area. The hunter and victim did not know each other and were not hunting together when the shooting happened.

Police have detained the suspect in custody.

RCMP along with Officers from Manitoba Conservation continue to investigate.
