Manitoba relaxes gathering sizes, two additional cases of COVID-19 identified Friday

Two new cases of COVID-19 have been identified in Manitoba on Friday, May 22, 2020. The total number of lab-confirmed and probable cases remains at 292.

One person is currently being treated in hospital for the virus. No one is in intensive care.

The number of deaths related to COVID-19 in Manitoba remains at Seven.

267 people have recovered from the virus with 18 cases still listed as active.

873 tests for COVID-19 were performed on Thursday, May 21, 2020, bringing the total number of tests performed since early February to 337,272.

Effective today, public health orders have been amended to allow an increase on gathering size to no more than 25 people for indoor premises and 50 for outdoor areas, providing social distancing measures are in place.

Professional sports team players, coaches, managers, training staff and medical personnel are permitted to work at the team’s facilities for training and practising, as long as no members of the public are in attendance.
