Manitoba Premier Embarks on U.S. Trade Mission to Bolster Economic Ties

In a move to enhance economic relations, Manitoba Premier Wab Kinew, along with key ministers and delegates, has embarked on a trade mission to the United States. The delegation, which includes prominent figures from various sectors, aims to meet with current and prospective partners in Washington, D.C., and New York City.

The mission’s agenda is to fortify trade relationships and explore new avenues for exporting Manitoba’s abundant natural, agricultural resources, and clean energy solutions. Premier Kinew emphasized the importance of these meetings in boosting employment and sustaining the province’s robust economy for future generations.

Among the delegates are leaders from the Mining Association of Manitoba, Keystone Agricultural Producers, and the Business Council of Manitoba, as well as CEOs from influential Manitoba companies. They will collaborate with the Premier’s Business and Jobs Council to reinforce existing trade ties and seek fresh opportunities to export goods and services to the U.S.

The delegation is also accompanied by former premier Gary Doer, who serves as a volunteer advisor on trade with the United States, leveraging his experience as a former Canadian ambassador.
