Manitoba Organized Crime Unit seizes drugs and firearms

The RCMP’s provincial organized crime unit made a number of seizures over the summer in connection to the trafficking of methamphetamine in eastern Manitoba including the City of Winnipeg.

Towards the end of June, 2020, officers with the unit learned that an RM of Rockwood home contained stolen firearms. The Manitoba Organized Crime Unit executed a search warrant and seized a number of stolen firearms, stolen property and Meth.

On August 25, 2020, Roy Mitchell Daiedzic was arrested and charged for his alleged involvement in connection to the seizure with Possession of Methamphetamine, five counts of Unlawful Storage of firearms, Unlawful Possession of firearms, two counts of Possession of Firearms Obtained by Crime And three counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.

A second person was arrested in connection to the investigation. On August 14, 2020, officers placed Jillian Elizabeth Joy Carter in custody then executed search warrants on two Winnipeg properties associated with her.

A significant amount of Meth, Cocaine and other suspected controlled substances were seized. Police say that there was also extensive evidence of drug trafficking uncovered during the searches.

Carter is facing charges for her alleged involvement of Possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine, Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine, Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.

The investigation continues.
