Manitoba’s lowest-paid workers are set to see a slight increase in their paychecks this fall, as the provincial government announced the minimum wage will rise by 20 cents to $16 per hour, effective October 1st.
Manitoba Labour and Immigration released the information, stating that the annual adjustment, mandated by the Employment Standards Code, will see the current minimum wage of $15.80 climb to the new rate.
The 20-cent increase is directly tied to the province’s 2024 inflation rate, which was recorded at 1.1 percent.
The new minimum wage will come into effect on October 1st, 2024.
