Manitoba Launches “Support Manitoba. Buy Local.” Campaign

The Manitoba government has launched a new advertising campaign, “Support Manitoba. Buy Local.,” aimed at boosting the province’s economy by encouraging residents to purchase locally-made goods and services. Premier Wab Kinew and Business, Mining, Trade and Job Creation Minister Jamie Moses announced the initiative today.

“Manitobans are united in their resolve to support each other, and how we as consumers choose to spend our money can make a big impact,” said Kinew. He emphasized the importance of economic diversification, particularly in light of recent global events, stating that buying Manitoban or Canadian products strengthens local businesses and creates jobs within the province.

The “Support Manitoba. Buy Local.” campaign, which launched today on digital platforms, will soon expand to include billboards and radio advertisements. A dedicated website has also been created to connect Manitobans with businesses offering made-in-Manitoba and made-in-Canada products. The site aims to simplify the process of finding and supporting local vendors.

Moses highlighted the innovation of Manitoba’s entrepreneurs, noting the world-class products and food they produce. “This campaign will help highlight how Manitobans can connect with Manitoban businesses, products, and services as we move to make our economy more resilient to uncertainty posed by tariffs,” he said. The government hopes the campaign will foster greater awareness of local businesses and encourage consumers to prioritize buying local.
