On Friday, August 26, 2022, the Manitoba government announced that it would be spending $1.1 million to make improvements to Provincial Parks.
The money will be used to support a number of accessibility improvements at Birds Hill Provincial Park, Whiteshell Provincial Park and Grand Beach Provincial Park.
Other improvements will include upgrades to yurts at Asessippi, Camp Morton, Stephenfield and Spruce Woods provincial parks.
Nopiming Provincial park will see improvements to picnic tables and fire pits along backcountry canoe routes.
Boat launches at Bakers Narrows, Clearwater Lake and Grass River will be improved.
Hecla/Grindstone Provincial Park will get a new amphitheatre, renovations to the Hecla Village fish museum, minor repairs to the marsh walkway, a new viewing telescope and trail signage improvements.
Spruce Woods and Beaudry provincial parks will see funding that will support conservation and biodiversity enhancement projects including prairie management initiatives.
