Manitoba Intervenes to Assist Evicted Tenants at College Avenue Apartment Building

The Manitoba Consumer Protection and Government Services has announced that the Residential Tenancies Branch (RTB) has issued several orders to the landlord of 285 College Avenue in Winnipeg. This action is part of an effort to assist tenants in returning to their units immediately following an eviction earlier this week.

Starting at 8 p.m. today, the province will deploy security officers to the apartment building, providing 24-hour security until midnight on Monday, July 22. The security team will have a list of tenant names and new keys will be available for tenants to access their apartments. Tenants will need to present identification matching the tenancy list or proof of tenancy to gain access.

This intervention aims to ensure the safety and security of the tenants while they return to their homes.
