Manitoba Labour and Immigration has announced that the new provincial minimum wage of $15.80 per hour is now in effect. This increase, regulated through the Employment Standards Code, represents a 50-cent rise from the previous minimum wage of $15.30 per hour.
The adjustment is based on a consumer price index of 3.5 percent and is part of the province’s annual review process to ensure wages keep pace with the cost of living. The new rate aims to provide better financial stability for workers across Manitoba.
