Manitoba Government Ensures Uninterrupted Fuel Supply Amidst Pipeline Repairs

The Manitoba government is actively monitoring fuel supply levels, distribution, and pricing as the repair of the Imperial Oil pipeline continues. Despite the ongoing repairs, gasoline, diesel, and aviation fuel continue to flow into Manitoba.

The government is working closely with suppliers and stakeholders to track fuel distribution and supply chain developments. This collaboration aims to ensure that Manitobans have uninterrupted access to fuel while the pipeline repairs are completed in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.

In a significant development, fuel terminal upgrades in Winnipeg have been completed. These upgrades have increased the rail to truck offloading capacity within the city, improving distribution to local retailers and ensuring a steady supply of fuel.

Imperial Oil, the company responsible for the pipeline, has advised the province that the repair operation is on schedule and expected to be completed in June. Provincial inspectors will continue to visit the site to monitor for environmental impacts. The inspectors’ presence will be increased during the drilling phase of the pipeline repair to ensure all operations are carried out responsibly.
