The Manitoba government is set to join thousands of agriculture producers, manufacturers, processors, and retailers this week in Brandon for the 48th Annual Manitoba Ag Days. Agriculture Minister Ron Kostyshyn announced today that this event, Canada’s largest indoor farm show, will bring together members of the agriculture community from across North America.
“The men and women who drive Manitoba’s agribusiness sector help contribute over $4 billion to the province’s economy and deserve our gratitude and respect,” said Kostyshyn. “Manitoba farmers, in particular, embody resilience and hard work, ensuring food security and economic growth for our province. Our government will continue to bolster this vital sector with strategic investments in innovation, research, and job creation, positioning Manitoba as a leader in agricultural excellence.”
Running from January 21 to 23 at the Keystone Centre in Brandon, Manitoba Ag Days will feature an array of activities, including a new vendor’s market showcasing local food and beverage products daily. The event aims to foster learning, networking, and create excitement for the upcoming growing season.
Innovation and technological advancement remain central themes, with this year’s innovation showcase being the largest ever, featuring seven categories and 34 contenders. Minister Kostyshyn emphasized the importance of sustainability, innovation, and resilience in building a stronger Manitoba.
“The dedication of producers to sustainability, innovation, and resilience is building a stronger Manitoba,” said Kostyshyn. “Events like Ag Days underscore our government’s commitment to supporting this critical sector as we address challenges like climate change and fluctuating market conditions.”
