Manitoba extends state of emergency for 30 days

In a move that was not unexpected, the provincial government extended the state of emergency under the Emergency Measures Act.

The extension went into effect at 4:00 pm August 12, 2020, and will remain in effect for 30 days.

Under a state of emergency the government can react quickly to support efforts related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The state of emergency was first declared on March 20, 2020.
