Pallister officially calls election for September 10th

Brian Pallister has officially called the Manitoba General Election on Monday August 12, 2019, for Tuesday September 10th kicking off a 29 day campaign.

No one was surprised by the move because Pallister announced the election date in June but had to wait until this month to ask Lt-Gov Janice Filmon to dissolve the house.

All three major parties in the province have been campaigning and nominating candidates since Pallister first made the announcement that he would be going to the poles 13 months early.

Elections Manitoba says that voters who are registered to vote will be receiving their voter information card in the mail. The voter card will provide information on where and when to vote on election day or during advanced voting.

People who are qualified to vote in the general election who do not receive their voter’s card or if your information is incorrect on the card are asked to contact their returning office by August 22. You can find your returning office here: https://www.electionsmanitoba.ca/en/Voting/WhatsMyElectoralDivision

Voters can also register or update information online until August 22nd by going to the following website: https://www.electionsmanitoba.ca/en/Voting/Register_Of_Voters
