Winnipeg Police Major Crimes Unit say that the January 4, 2019 fire that destroyed a home under construction and damaged the home on either side is suspicious in nature.

The fire broke out around 2:15 am in the 900 block of Manitoba Avenue. No injuries were reported but damage to the three homes is estimated to be around $580,000.00

Investigators say that shortly before the fire started an suspicious person was seen in the area. He is described as Indigenous in appearance and wearing a black baseball cap, a white hoodie and a black jacket.
