The manhunt for 34-year-old Eric Wildman continues as RCMP receives more leads to his whereabouts.
Wildman is wanted in connection to the disappearance and presumed homicide of 40-year-old Clifford Joseph in the RM of St. Clements. Joseph is Wildman’s neighbour.
Warrants for Wildman’s arrest were issued after police searched his vehicle on Sunday and located weapons and police type items in the vehicle including a tactical vest, police patches and a Hi-vis safety vest.
Police reported that on June 11 Wildman was spotted a the Lowe’s store on Panet Road around 6:40 pm and then seen entering a cab about 15 minutes later. The cab took Wildman to the airport where he rented the Equinox around 7:30 pm.
Wildman spotted on Tuesday night in the Lockport area driving the rented 2020 Chevy Equinox. The vehicle was seen driving eastbound on Highway 44.
On Wednesday evening, June 16, RCMP had a confirmed report that Wildman had been spotted in the Whiteshell. Police have swarmed the area and have brought in specialized units including the Emergency Response Team, Police Dog Services, Air Services and others. They are also working closely with the Ontario Provincial Police to search for Wildman.
Police say that they continue to search for Wildman and remind the public that he is considered Armed and Dangerous and must not be approached.
