RCMP are continuing their search in high probability areas for murder suspects Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky in and around Gilliam and Fox Lake Cree Nation.
Gilliam is about 1064 kilometres away from Winnipeg by car.
Over the next three days officers will be conducting a door-to-door canvas of residences in Gilliam and Fox Lake to try and generate new tips and information.
Although investigators believe the pair are still in the Gilliam area they say that they are also exploring the possibility that the suspects may have inadvertently received help in leaving the area and may have changed their appearance. Police urge anyone who may have helped the pair to come forward.
Although there have been several rumours of sightings in other locations on social media police say that there have been no confirmed sightings of the suspects outside the Gilliam area.
Police urge the public to not create or share online rumours. They say this kind of false information only spreads fear and panic.
Police also released the surveillance video taken in Meadow Lake Saskatchewan on July 21, 2019, in the hopes that it will generate new information.
RCMP remind the public that Kam McLeod and Bryer Schmegelsky are considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. If you see them contact police immediately by calling 911 or contact your local police agency.
The search continues.
