Man who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman on a bus wanted by police

Winnipeg Police Service Sex Crimes Unit are looking for a man alleged to have sexually assaulted a woman twice on a Winnipeg Transit bus.

Police say that a 23-year-old female victim contacted police on October 26, 2022, about the assault that happened at approximately 9:15 am. The victim was on the bus in the area of Portage Place when a male she did not know sat beside her. He allegedly touched her in an inappropriate sexual manner. The victim also told police that the same man had allegedly touched her in the same way on a bus in August 2022. The victim was not physically injured in either incident.

Following an eight month investigation police released images of the suspect taken on a bus.

The suspect is described as a black male in his mid to late 50s standing about six feet tall with short black hair, baiding with a moustache. He has a heavy build and appears to wear prescription glasses.

Police say that as some time has passed since the incident occurred the suspect’s appearance may have changed.

Investigators are continuing to look into both incidents and ask anyone with information about the identity of the suspect to callthe Sex Crimes Unit at (204)986-2987 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-8477.
