Man wanted for forcibly confining woman against her will

Manitoba First Nations Police Service are searching for a man wanted in connection to forcibly confining a woman against her will for several days in the Opaskwayak Cree Nation.

Police say that the victim contacted officers on November 13, 2023, and told them about the incident that also included her and her infant child being assaulted by the suspect. Both victims were treated in hospital and remained overnight for observation.

A warrant has been issued for Kavika Reeves Constant for his alleged involvement for the following offences:

  • Assault with a weapon 
  • Assault while choking 
  • Assault 
  • Being unlawfully in a dwelling house 
  • Forcible confinement 
  • Utter threats against a person 
  • Mischief under $5000 
  • Fail to comply with Probation 
  • Fail to comply with a release order
