Brandon Police Service (BPS) has arrested a 41-year-old man wanted on a number of warrants by five Manitoba police agencies.
Police say that around 6:00 pm on Saturday, August 19, 2023, they were told by RCMP that a male driving a motorcycle had fled from officers. BPS located the suspect shortly afterwards entering Brandon in the area of Richmond Avenue East and 17th Street East.
As police attempted to stop the suspect he tried to avoid being captured by driving along railway tracks in the area. The suspect then got off the motorcycle and tried to flee on foot but was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit.
In addition to being process on multiple warrants from the five other police agencies the suspect was also charged for his alleged involvement with light from Police, Resist Arrest, Prohibited Driving, Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Proceeds of Crime, Six charges of Fail to Comply with a Release Order.
The suspect was detained in custody.
