RCMP have arrested a 30-year-old male in connection to a number of threats he allegedly made towards police on social media.
Police say they became aware of the threats on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, and an investigation led officers to the identity of the suspect. Police searched the Fisher Branch area for the man but could not locate him
The next day police responded to a collision in Fisher Branch and when they arrived found that one of the people involved in the traffic incident was the suspect they had been searching for.
Brian Hrominchuk was arrested and when he was searched officers found six knives in his possession. Officers then searched his vehicle and found two swords, ammunition and several notebooks.
Police executed a search warrant at the suspects home and seized a rifle, ammunition, computers, cellphones and notebooks
Hrominchuk has been charged for his alleged involvement with Uttering Threats, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm and Unsafe Storage of Firearms.
