A 54-year-old male from The Pas has a date with a judge after police caught him transporting a large amount of marihuana during a traffic stop.
On September 20, 2018 RCMP were involved in speed enforcement on Highway 6 near Deer Horn Line when they pulled over a vehicle going 132 km/h in a 100 zone.
Police say that during the stop they could smell marihuana from inside the vehicle and questioned the driver. The driver showed them a burnt joint to explain the smell. Officers arrested the man for possession and searched his vehicle. During the search, they found 2000 grams of marihuana in vacuum sealed bags along with a large amount of cash.
Anthony Ross is now facing charges for trafficking, speeding and also for driving while disqualified.
The investigation is continuing.
Ross will appear in court in November.
