Man stabbed with hypodermic needle while waiting to order food

Winnipeg Police have arrested and charged a 34-year-old female after she allegedly stabbed a man in his sixties with a hypodermic needle.

The incident happened just after noon on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at a Regent Avenue West restaurant. According to police, the victim was standing in line waiting to order food when the suspect, who was unknown to him, stabbed him from behind with a needle.

The victim was provided medical attention as a precaution.

When officers arrived the suspect was still on the scene and appeared to be intoxicated.

Jessie Kayla Genaille, 34, Was charged for her alleged involvement with Assault with a Weapon and Fail to Comply with Release Order.

She was detained.
