Winnipeg Police are investigating a stabbing the occurred late Friday night, September 22, 2017.
According to police, a 45-year-old man was assaulted by a group of teenagers in the area of Salter Street and St. Johns Avenue. A group of five teens swarmed the man stabbing him in the lower body.

When officers arrived on scene they applied a tactical tourniquet in order to stabilize him. The victim was taken to hospital in critical condition but has been upgraded to stable.
Police say that it does not appear that the victim and teens knew each other but the investigation remains ongoing with the Major Crime Unit taking the lead.
