Man Stabbed in Roblin Blvd Apartment

A 53-year-old male was seriously injured in a stabbing incident at an apartment building in the 4000 block of Roblin Boulevard. The Winnipeg Police Service responded to the call at approximately 5:24 p.m.

Upon arrival, West District General Patrol officers found the victim with severe upper-body injuries. He was promptly transported to the hospital, where he received medical attention and was stabilized.

The suspect, a 27-year-old male, fled the scene on foot before police arrived. Officers later located and arrested him without incident in the 3100 block of Vialoux Drive. A knife, believed to have been used in the assault, was found on the suspect and seized as evidence.

The Major Crimes Unit took over the investigation and determined that the suspect and the victim had engaged in a verbal argument in a common area of the building. During the altercation, the suspect produced a knife and repeatedly stabbed the victim. It was confirmed that the suspect and the victim were not previously known to each other.

The suspect is facing multiple charges, including Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon, and several counts of Failing to Comply with Probation and Condition of Release Orders. He remains in custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
