Around 1:10 am Saturday, a 24 year old male and 33 year old female were confronted by unknown suspects while walking in the area of Flora Avenue and Salter Street.
The suspects demanded property but the victims refused. The male victim was assaulted and then stabbed in the upper body.
The suspects fled and no arrests have been made at this time.
The victim was taken to hospital and is in stable condition.
