MAN ROBS STORE THEN SCREAMS AT POLICE TO SHOOT HIM BEFORE HE IS ARRESTED

Police use tasers to take the armed man down

On Tuesday June 20, 2017 Winnipeg Police were called to the 600 block of Selkirk Avenue for a man who was checking if vehicles in the area were unlocked. The caller told operators that the man was armed with a knife and scissors. The man was also a suspect in a robbery of a convenience store down the block that had just happened.
Police found the suspect in the McKenzie Street and Prichard Avenue area still armed with a knife and scissors. The man charged officers and screamed for them to shoot him. Officers fired a taser at the man but it had no effect. The suspect then jumped on the hood of a police car while continuing to yell at police to shoot him. A second taser was deployed and police were able to get the man in custody.
Police took the suspect to hospital where he was medically cleared.
