Man points a handgun at security staff outside nightclub

A 30-year-old man was detained in custody after he allegedly pulled out a handgun and began waving it around outside a Winnipeg nightclub.

The incident happened around 12:50 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2023, in the 400 block of Main Street. Officers were called to the scene for reports of the suspect pointing the firearm at security staff. According to police the male has been removed from the club due to aggressive behaviour. Once outside he brandished the weapon. Police note that no shots were fired.

Officers located the suspect near Garry Street and arrested him. A replica BB gun was found in his possession.

  • Possession of a Weapon
  • Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Assault with a Weapon x 2
