A 20-year-old man visiting Winnipeg is facing drug trafficking charges after police had to rescue him from a Stradbrook Street balcony.
Around 11:00 pm on Saturday, October 22, 2022, police were called to a residence in the 300 block after he had been seen on a neighbouring balcony. When officers arrived they found out that the man had locked himself out of his vacation rental. The man gave police the access code to enter the suite. As police entered the suite to help they found drugs and money in plain sight. The officers let the man back into the suite and then promptly placed him under arrest as they began a drug investigation.
Police obtained and executed a search warrant for the residence and seized Cocaine, Fentanyl a cutting agent, about $25,000 in cash, cell phones, scales, vacuum sealer and packaging materials.
Officers charged Handsome Raulia, of Vancouver, British Columbia, for his alleged involvement with Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Fentanyl), Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine) and Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.
He was detained in custody
