Man with loaded rifle busted after police saw him trying to conceal it as he walked in public.

Winnipeg’s Tactical Support Team (TST) arrested a man in the area of Salter Street and Mountain Avenue On Saturday, October 14, 2017, after he tried to hide a weapon as he walked down the street.

It happened just after 8:30 in the morning. Members of TST watched the man and then confronted him. The suspect tried to throw the weapon over a nearby fence but officers immediately arrested him and recovered the firearm.

Police say the weapon was a SKS style rifle with a bayonet. There was one round in the chamber and one round in the magazine. The suspect also had other bullets in his pocket.

 

 

The identity of the suspect was not released but he was taken into custody and charged with Possess Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Carry Conceal Weapon and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm for his alleged involvement.
