Three story fall causes broken leg
In an attempt to avoid being arrested a man armed with a knife jumped from a third story apartment window on Balmoral Street.
It happened on the evening of Tuesday, August 22, 2017.
Winnipeg Police received the report of a domestic assault and when they entered the suite they were told the suspect had jumped from the window.
Police located the man on the ground with an injured leg that was later discovered to have been broken. He was taken to the hospital and underwent surgery to repair his broken right femur.
Winnipeg Police notified the Independent Investigation Unit (IIU) on Wednesday, August 23, 2017, that the injury had occurred.
The IIU is investigating the incident as it is considered a serious injury as defined by the regulations.
