Winnipeg police are investigating an assault that happened just before 10:00 pm on Saturday, September 16, 2023, in the Central Park area.

Police and Cadets responded the Balmoral Hotel parking lot and located the male victim suffering from assault related injuries. He was taken to hospital in stable condition.
Police say that no other information could be provided to officers at the scene. A woman claiming to be the victim’s niece told News 4 that the victim had been jumped while in Central Park shortly after 9:30 p.m.
